Information about the Study
Treatment
In the Big BOSS Study - The British Orthopaedic SCFE Surgery Study for Severe Stable Slips - half the children will have corrective surgery, whilst the other half will have keyhole surgery
Things to Know
At the end of the study, it will help everyone to know what the best treatment is. To make sure people learn about the best treatment, the doctors who help with this study will talk to other doctors, and other people in the NHS who write national guidelines.

Personal details will be held by the research team at the University of Oxford. All information that is collected during the course of the research will be used and stored in accordance with the current data protection legislation.

PROF DAN PERRY
Chief Investigator
Dan is an NIHR Research Professor and a consultant in children's orthopaedic surgery. He leads international clinical research in a broad array of conditions & injuries that affect children, and loves to ensure that research is presented in a way that is accessible to everyone.
LOUISE SPOORS
Study Manager
Louise manages a suite of children’s trauma trials at the University of Oxford. She was a nurse for many years and has a real understanding of the challenges of doing clinical trials in hospitals.
KINZAH ABBASI
Study Co-ordinator
Kinzah is a study coordinator and has been working in clinical trials for 4 years. She is a key senior member of the team running our studies that involve children at Oxford Trauma.
CRISPIN WRIGHT
Study Administrator
Crispin moved from care work into clinical trials and is enthusiastic about contributing to the improvement of healthcare.
KARIS JENKINS
